My Weighty Issue.

1 Corinthians 10:31-33 "Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God."

Ok. This is not an easy post for me. BUT, this has been a burden for me to blog about for quite some time. I truly do feel the Lord has been pressing me to write about this. So, of course, I will. : )

For those of you who have never met me--this is me:

Goofing off--head banging in the studio.

Tossing Little Red about.

Stealing my mother-in-law's camera to take pics of our opening night of the studio (because the photographer didn't bring her camera... oh yes--tis true.)

So here goes: Hi, my name is Page--and I am overweight.

There--I said it. *Deep Breath--Sigh.........................*

A little history: I have been overweight for a long time... as long as I can remember, actually. I have been self conscience about my weight for as long as I can remember, too.

There's been lots of tears and discouragement over the years. Lot's of "Why's" or "What happened?" or "Why can't I change?" or "Why is this so hard?" Surely I'm not the only one out there who has felt this way--or asked these questions...

Weight is never an easy topic to discuss. I think this is true for everyone, but--I believe the Lord wants me to write about it, discuss it, and share what I have learned, and am still learning, through my experiences. And I will follow whatever He wants. This will never be easy for me--but I will. Any prayers you can send my way will be greatly appreciated! : )

I have some things that have very recently been shown to me by God's grace and answer to my many prayers, that I can't wait to share with you. I truly believe all of my past failures in regard to my weight stem back to relying on myself alone--and not looking to what God has to say about weight. Did you know His Word is full of verses about how to take care of our bodies and why????? It is. His Word is complete--even in regards to my weight. Over the next few days, I'll share these with you. They are life changing--and I'll be changing soon. (Because of and thanks to The Lord.)

For those of you resolving to lose weight this year--let's look for more than just a New Year's resolution, but a dive into the Word of God that never fails, and gives us the right perspective, hope, and drive that is needed to get this job done.

1 Corinthians 10:13 "There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it."

I won't do it perfectly... But with God's grace--all things are possible, yeah? : )

One last thing. (Will seem random, but only momentarily) I love the comic strip, Garfield. Love, love, love!!! : ) I love his take on all sorts of things--particularly food, dieting, and weight loss. He gives a light take on such a heavy issue (pun intended)--because it won't do any good to only be depressed about it... So--I'll share a comic or two with my weight posts. Smile, laugh, enjoy--then remember Who is on our side, and will help and lead when we let Him.

Love these!! : D
