Happy Monday, everyone! Oh wait, this is Monday....we're not allowed to be happy, right? ha! Well, I believe most of us have come off of a BUSY weekend, I know I have! In the midst of the hustle and bustle, I was reminded once again of one of my favorite verses!
Romans 8:28 "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."
Normally we focus on the first part of this verse, and anxiously await the good to come out of every situation. However, how many times do we read the rest of this verse?? "....to them that LOVE GOD, to them who are the called according to his purpose."
This isn't a verse for the lost, but rather the saved. Christian, have you checked your love for God lately? Do you love the Lord? Love is a choice, and an action. Do your actions prove that your love for God is what it should be? Are you more in "love" with the pleasures that this world offers (which are only for a season)? Are you proving your love for Christ by making Him first in your life?
Deuteronomy 6:5 "And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might."
Deuteronomy 7:9 "Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations"
This convicted my heart, as I examined my own life. My desire is to have the love for God that I should have. When I do have the correct love for God, everything else will fall into place. You prove your love for God by keeping his commandments as Deut. 7:9 says. It's not enough to just say the words, but as Deut. 6:5 says -we are to love him with all our heart, soul and might!
May this thought from God's Word, challenge each and every one of us to examine our lives.

My sister came to visit, her car's oil pan received a nickel size hole, all the oil leaked out, it's a VW so it's not easy to fix. :-(
Fortunately we had just arrived back in town when it happened, my friend's husband (car guru) noticed it, which allowed us NOT to ruin her car by continuing to drive it the last couple of blocks. She wanted to stay at our place an extra day, so now she gets to! The entire situation could've been SO much worse! And we do know that all things work together for good!
Thank you Lord for your protection, your love, and for your faithfulness to teach and convict our hearts from your Word!
